Peyush Bansal is an Indian businessman who is the CEO and co-founder of Lenskart. Lenskart is a leading eyewear brand in India with over 600 retail stores and over 4,000 employees across India. He is also a shark in the Indian television show Shark Tank India.

Peyush Bansal was born on 26th April 1985 in New Delhi, Delhi, India. He belongs to a middle-class family. His father’s name is Bal Kishan Bansal and his mother’s name is Kiran Bansal. He has an elder brother and a sister, Neha Bansal.

After completing his graduation in 2007, he joined Microsoft, Redmond, Washington as a Program Manager. He worked there for around a year and subsequently, resigned from his position in the firm and returned to India.
He wanted to start his own business and was constantly looking for business ideas. In 2007, he launched a campus classifieds portal called SearchMyCampus. The portal connected college students with different service providers like accommodation, internships, transportation, books, and part-time jobs. The project was successful.
In 2010, Peyush, along with Amit Chaudhary and Sumeet Kapahi launched Lenskart. Initially, they used to sell contact lenses via their online portal. Within a year, the company expanded and began selling contact lenses, eyeglasses, and sunglasses.
His company Lenskart has funded his many startups including John Jacobs (2015), Aqualens (2019), Lenskart Plus (2020), and Lenskart Vision Fund (2020). In 2019, Lenskart became a unicorn with its net assets being $1.5 billion.

In December 2021, he became a shark in the first season of the television show Shark Tank India. Earlier, he was not ready to be a shark in the second season of Shark Tank India but later agreed to a shark again.
