Zayn, who is preparing for his music comeback later this month, reflected on the moment he realized it was time to leave the group in 2015. Following his departure, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and Liam Payne continued as a foursome for another year before going on hiatus in 2016.

When asked about his decision to leave, Zayn shared, “I’ve had a sense of it for a while.” He further explained, “Without going into too much detail, there were political issues and certain individuals not wanting to sign contracts. So, I had a feeling that something was happening. Additionally, there were underlying friendship issues. Spending every day together for five years took its toll, and we grew tired of one another, to be completely honest. Nevertheless, I now look back on our shared experiences with a much more positive perspective.”
