Michelle Dee was born on 24 April 1995 in Makati, Metro Manila, Philippines to Frederick “Derek” Dee, a businessman and former character actor, and to actress, author, former supermodel, and beauty queen Melanie Marquez, who won Miss International 1979. She has one sister, Maxine, and four maternal half-siblings: Miguelito, Mazen, Adam Jr., and Abraham.
Dee grew up loving farm animals and enjoying rural life in both Utah and her family’s farm in Mabalacat, Pampanga, Philippines.

Miss World Philippines 2019
On September 15, 2019, Dee was crowned Miss World Philippines 2019 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Manila, Philippines. The final night featured swimwear, evening rock, and two question-and-answer rounds. She competed and defeated 39 other delegates and was crowned by the outgoing Miss World Philippines 2018 Katarina Sonja Rodriguez at the end of the event. During the pageant, Dee won six special awards: Fila Miss Sportswoman, Miss GCOX, Cathy Valencia Miss Best Skin, Miss Bench, Miss Myra E, and Miss Bluewater Day Spa. In the semi-finals, host Laura Lehmann asked Dee what lessons and advise her mother, famous top model and Miss International 1979 Melanie Marquez, gave her in preparing for her first beauty pageant.
Miss World 2019
As Miss World Philippines 2019, Dee represented the Philippines at the Miss World 2019 pageant on December 14, 2019, at the ExCel Stadium in London, England, United Kingdom. Early on, Dee won both rounds of her group’s Head-to-Head Challenge, placing her in the top 40 semifinalists. She also made it to the top 40 for top models and the top 20 for beauty on purpose. On finals night, Dee was invited to the Top 40 and later made it to the Top 12 semi-finals.
Miss Universe Philippines 2022
On April 6, 2022, she was announced as the official candidate for Miss Universe Philippines 2022. She has crowned Miss Universe Philippines Tourism 2022 at the end of the coronation night, finishing second to winner Celeste Cortes.
Miss Universe Philippines 2023
On February 18, 2023, she was announced as the official candidate for Miss Universe Philippines 2023. In the preliminary pageant, she won Miss Aqua Boracay, Miss Pondi, and Miss Zion Philippines. She won the best evening gown award at the coronation night. At the end of the pageant, she was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2023 by outgoing Miss Universe Philippines 2022 Celeste Cortes. She will represent the Philippines in the upcoming Miss Universe 2023 pageant to be held in El Salvador later this year.
Modeling
In 2016, Dee got her first modeling project with clothing brand Bench. She signed to Click Model Management in New York, after being scouted during a Bench photoshoot.

In 2019, she made her acting debut in the movie Because I Love You where she played the role of Gianna. Later, in the same year, she was seen in the movie G! LU, and TV shows like One of the Baes and Love You Two. In 2021, she was seen in the shows Agimat ng Agila and I Left My Heart in Sorsogon. Philanthropy
Growing up with two siblings diagnosed with autism, Dee has been an advocate for autism awareness and mental health education since age 16. She collaborated with the Center for Possibilities Incorporation, a foundation that helps and cares for special children and other organizations to spread more information about autism, help people with intellectual disabilities – especially young people – and raise awareness. on autism and mental health. After winning Miss World Philippines 2019, Dee donated part of her prize money to people with autism who need medical care and other relevant assistance.
Dee also works with the Autism Society of the Philippines to address the needs of people on the autism spectrum and their families and improve access to intervention facilities and services, especially in provincial areas.
