Jemimah Rodrigues is an Indian International cricketer who plays for India’s national women’s cricket team. She plays for Delhi Capitals in the Women’s Premier League (WPL). She plays as an all-rounder, a right-hand batter, and a left-arm fast bowler.
Jemimah Rodrigues Personal Life
Jemimah was born on 5th September 2000 in Bhandup, Mumbai to Ivan Rodrigues and Lavita Rodrigues. She has two siblings Enoch and Eli Rodrigues. Jemimah began playing cricket at the age of 4. To provide good sports facilities to Jemimah and her siblings, her family moved to Bandra West. Her father, Ivan Rodrigues was a coach in her school and he helped in forming the girl’s cricket team at her school.
Jemimah Rodrigues Career
At the age of 12-and-a-half, Jemimah made her cricket U-19 debut, during the 2012-13 cricket season. Later, at the age of 13, she was selected for the under-19 state cricket team.
On 13th February 2018, she made her Women’s Twenty20 International cricket (WT20I) debut for India Women against South Africa Women. On 12th March 2018, she made her Women’s One Day International cricket (WODI) debut for India Women against Australia Women.
In January 2020, she was named to India’s squad for the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia. In 2021, she played for Melbourne Renegades in the 2021 WBBL. In February 2022, she was retained by Northern Superchargers for the 2022 edition of the Hundred. In July 2022, she was selected for India’s team for the cricket tournament at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England.
In 2023, she was bought by the Delhi Capitals in the first edition of the Women’s Premier League for Rs 2.20 Crore.
