Gauri Sawant is a transgender activist born on 22nd July 1980 in Mumbai, India. She was named Ganesh Suresh Sawant t her birth. She was born to Suresh Sawant, a police officer, and her mother’s name is unavailable. Gauri’s mother died when Gauri was 7 years old, so she was raised by her grandmother. At the age of 14, Gauri left her home as she did not want to disappoint her dad.
