Carsten Maschmeyer was born on 8 May in Bremen, Germany to mother, Gertrud Maschmeyer. He grew up in Hildesheim, Lower Saxony.
Carsten has never seen his father. He used to live in an orphanage. When he was 40 years old, he met his one half-brother. During his teenage years, he was a successful athlete (middle-distance-runner).
