Dawid Kubacki is a Polish ski jumper. He is the 2019 World Champion and 2019-20 Four Hills Tournament winner, as well as the 2017 World Champion and 2013 World Championship bronze medalist in the large hill team competitions.

Dawid Kubacki was born on 12 March 1990 in Nowy Targ, Poland to Edward Kubacki and Małgorzata Kubacka.

Made his international debut on September 25, 2005, at the FIS Cup in Bischofshofen. On January 14, 2006, he scored his first points at the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup, finishing 22nd in the competition in Harrachov.

On March 18, 2007, participated in the Continental Cup for the first time. He was 26th in the competition in Zakopane. In the individual events of the 2013 FIS Nordic World Championships, he finished 31st on the normal hill and 20th on the large hill.

On March 2, 2013, he won bronze in the team competition there with his teammates: Kamil Stoch, Maciej Kot, and Piotr Żyła. Kubacki jumped 126 m and 128 m. Kubacki participated in the 2015 World Championships in Falun, Sweden. He rode the big hill Lugnet (K-120) and made it to the second round, but finished 29th.

On March 4, 2017, the Polish national team, consisting of Żyła, Kubacki, Kot, and Stoch, achieved a historic first place at the World Cup 2017. In Lahti, Salpauselka K116 won against Norway and Austria. The summer season was very successful for him. He won 5 out of 9 races: Wisła, Hinterzarten, Courchevel, Hinzenbach and Klingenthal. He won every race he entered as he missed four races in Japan, Hakuba, Russia, and Chaykovski. He repeated the achievement of Takanobu Okabe from 1994 (first edition).

On February 19, 2018, Kubacki, along with teammates Maciej Koti, Stefan Hula, and Kamil Stoch, won Poland’s first Olympic medal. They got bronze after Norway and Germany.

Dawid Kubacki’s Health Update

In March 2023, the news that he would not appear in the final of the Raw Air Series due to personal reasons dropped just under an hour before the event began. Dawid believed his fans needed an explanation and told them on social media that it was because of his wife’s illness.

“My wife Marta landed in hospital [for] cardiological reasons, she is in bad condition and doctors are fighting for her life. She is in good hands, she is [a] strong girl, [I] know she will fight it,” Kubacki announced on Instagram and in a Facebook post.
