Brooks Koepka is an American professional golfer. He has made a name for himself in the golf world with his exceptional skills and impressive record. He won his first major at the 2017 US Open at Erin Hills in Wisconsin. In 2018, he successfully defended his title at Shinnecock Hills on Long Island, becoming the first golfer to win US titles.
Brooks Koepka Personal Life
Brooks Koepka was born on 3 May 1990 in West Palm Beach, Florida, Unites States to Bob Koepka, a one-time college baseball player, and Denise Jakows. Brooks’ father Bob used to play baseball as a pitcher at West Virginia Wesleyan. His great-uncle is also a Major League Baseball player Dick Groat.
Brooks has a younger brother named Chase Koepka, a professional golfer. The duo of brothers played as partners in the 2019 Zurich Classic of New Orleans on the PGA Tour, the only Tour event using a team format.
Brooks Koepka Career
Koepka played college golf at Florida State University in Tallahassee, where he won three tournaments and was a three-time All-American. He qualified as an amateur in the summer of 2012, Koepka turned pro, and began playing on the Challenge Tour in Europe.
He won his first championship in September 2012, at the Challenge of Catalonia. In 2013, he gained his second victory on the Challenge Tour, winning the 2013 Montecchia Golf Open. A month later, he took his third win at the Fred Olsen Challenge de España, setting a tournament record. He ranked 260th (−24) and won by a record 10 strokes.

On May 19, 2019, Koepka won the 2019 PGA Championship, the first successful defense of the PGA Championship since Tiger Woods in 2007. Koepka was plagued by hip and knee pain for most of the season and retired from competition in August 2020 prior to the FedEx Cup Playoffs. In February 2021, Koepka won the Waste Management Phoenix Open at TPC Scottsdale, Arizona. Koepka overcame a five-shot deficit with a 6-under 65 on the final day. It was his second win at the event. Koepka underwent knee surgery on March 16, 2021.
In June 2022, Koepka participated in the LIV Golf Invitational and made his debut in Portland. He made the decision to “sell out” and join LIV Golf four months early, despite advice from golfers. Koepka was then banned from the PGA Tour for playing in the LIV Golf Invitational. In October 2022, Koepka defeated Peter Uihlein in the final of the LIV Golf Invitational in Jeddah for his first LIV Golf victory.
