In this review, we take a closer look at the VIVO Y100, a phone that has caught the attention of many for its stylish design and color-changing capabilities
The Y100 comes in an attractive box that showcases its two-color variants – gold and blue. Inside the box, you’ll find the phone, a case, a 44W fast charger, a Type-C cable, and a sim ejector tool. We’re pleased to see that VIVO has not followed the trend of removing chargers from phone boxes.
It comes with the slim and handy form factor of the phone. The glass back and unique pattern gives it a premium look that stands out from other phones in its price range. We appreciate the attention to design details, such as the boxes and rays that appear from different angles.
Additionally, the Y100 is impressively thin, yet it still manages to include a 3.5mm headphone jack. Its 6.38 inches display size is perfect for comfortable everyday use. The phone feels lightweight and easy to handle, making it an ideal option for those who value portability.
VIVO’s Y series is known for its cameras, and the Y100 does not disappoint. The front camera is a 16 MP shooter with a U-shaped notch. Although we’re disappointed that it does not have stabilization, the video quality is decent. The photos, on the other hand, are impressive, with good depth of field, accurate colors, and decent details. The only downside is that the HDR function sometimes misses.
The main camera at the back is a 64MP shooter with OIS, which performs well in low-light conditions. The OIS is particularly useful in capturing sharp images in low light or when your handshakes slightly. The night mode setting delivers sharp images even in challenging lighting situations. In daylight conditions, the camera produces good results, with an accurate depth of field, colors, and sharpness. The edge detection in portrait mode is excellent.
The Y100 is an excellent choice for those who value design and camera quality. Its slim form factor, glass back, and unique pattern make it stand out from other phones in its price range.
