Career
In 2016, Payne Haas represented the Australian Schoolboys. He attracted attention and received offers from 10 NRL clubs and even American football college teams. Eventually, in September 2016, Haas signed a three-year contract with the Brisbane Broncos, which extended until the end of 2019.

On 16 January 2021, Haas was charged with offensive language and intimidating police in Tweed Heads. On 4 February 2021, he was given a two-year good behavior bond as a consequence of the incident. Additionally, on 8 February 2021, the NRL imposed a $50,000 fine and a three-match suspension on Haas as further disciplinary action for intimidating the police.
On 3 April 2022, it was announced that the Brisbane club had initiated an investigation into Haas following the emergence of video footage showing him engaging in a drunken fight with teammate Albert Kelly.
