La Zarra is a Canadian singer and songwriter based in France. On 12 January 2023, she was selected by France Télévisions to represent France at the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest, becoming the second Canadian singer to represent the country since Natasha St-Pierre in 2001.

La Zarra was born on 25 August 1987 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada to parents of Moroccan descent. She spent her childhood between Montreal and Longueuil.
She rose to prominence in 2016 when she released her debut single “Printemps blanc”, a collaboration with French rapper Niro.
In 2021, her fame grew with the single “Tu t’en iras”, which was regularly broadcast on radio and television. The single was certified platinum by the Syndicat National de l’Édition Phonographique (SNEP). That same year, La Zarra was nominated for Francophone Breakthrough of the Year at the NRJ Music Awards, France’s leading music award, supported in part by the success of her debut album Traîtris.
She has sung many singles as a lead artist like in 2020: “À l’ammoniaque/Mon dieu”, in 2021: “Printemps blanc”, “Tirer un trait”, “Tu t’en iras”, “TFTF”, “Santa Baby”, in 2022: “Sans moi” and in 2023: “Évidemment”.
