In his younger years, Dylan Brown played on the Hikurangi stage. He later went to Sydney, Australia, to continue his NRL career with the Parramatta Eels.

Charged With Sexual Touching

Dylan Brown, who Parramatta five-eighth, has been charged with five counts of non-consensual sexual touching following the alleged incident at the Double Bay Hotel on Saturday night.

A complaint about Brown, one of the Eels’ most famous players, was made to staff at the Golden Sheaf pub late on Saturday night. NSW police have confirmed Brown will be charged in Downing Canter Local Court this week.

“At approximately 11.40pm, officers from East Suburbs PAC were called to a hotel on South Head Rd in Double Bay following a report of sexual contact,” police said in a statement.

“A 22-year-old man was arrested by police and taken to Waverley Police Station, where he is accused of touching another person sexually without consent.

“He has been bailed to appear at Downing Canter Local Court on Wednesday, 7 June.”

The Eels have a bye this weekend and play the Bulldogs next Monday afternoon. “The Parramatta Eels have been notified of the Dylan Brown incident that occurred last night,” Parramatta said in a statement.

“The club has advised the NRL Integrity Unit in line with our normal process. As this is a police matter, the club will not be making any further comment at this stage.

An NRL spokesperson confirmed the NRL Integrity Unit is aware of the matter and is liaising with the Eels and NSW Police.
