Calum Scott was born on 12 October 1988 in Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire, England to Debbie Burton and Kevin Scott. He has a younger sister named Jade, who is also a singer. On 15 August 2013, Scott Hull won the Mail’s Star Search, a talent competition organized by the Daily Mail. He then joined the Maroon 5 tribute band Maroon 4 and toured the UK. On May 24, Scott announced on Twitter that he had signed a record deal with Capitol Records, where he signed A&R Executive Alex Wilhelm.
