In 2013, she made her acting debut with the Malayalam movie Pottas Bomb. Soon, she was seen in the super-hit film Oru Indian Pranayakadha where she played a minor role. In 2015, she made a cameo appearance in Sachy’s Anarkali Athirana. Since then she has acted in films like Happy Wedding, Campus Diary, and Marupadi.
In 2017, she starred opposite Kunchacko Boban in Ramante Edanthottam. The film is directed by Ranjith Shankar. The film was successful and received positive feedback from both the audience and critics. The actress later starred in mid-sized blockbusters like Achayans, Sarvopari Palakkaran, and Aana Alaralodalaral. With her excellent performance in the movie, Captain Anu received a lot of appreciation from the audience. After the huge success of Captain, Anu starred opposite Tovino Thomas in Oru Kuprasidha Payyan and won the 2019 Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Malayalam. Apart from acting in a Malayalam film, Anu made her first debut in Tamil cinema with this film. Podhu Nalan Karudhi played the female lead opposite Karunakaran in the 2018 film. Anu received a lot of appreciation for her brave, innocent, and strong female characters in films like Ramante Edanthottam, Oru Kuprasidha Payyan, and Captain.
In 2019, she shared screen space with Dileep as Sreeja Krishnan in the movie Subharathri. Directed and written by Vyasan K.P. She later appeared in the action drama Mamangam directed by M. Padmakumar. Mammookka, Unni Mukundan, and Siddique starred in the film, which was a blockbuster of 2019. After making a cameo appearance in the film Maniyarayile Ashokan as Unnimaya (a cameo) in 2020, Anu was last seen as Merin in the film 12th Man. It was a thriller directed by Jeetu Joseph and starring Mohanlal.
In 2023, she was seen in the Tamil movie Pathu Thala.
