Laura Pausini is an Italian Singer, songwriter, and television personality. She became famous in 1993 when she won the new artist section of the 43rd Sanremo Music Festival with her debut single “La solitudine”, which became an Italian standard and an international success. Pausini appeared as a coach in the Mexican and Spanish versions of the international reality singing competition The Voice, was a judge in the first and second series of La Banda, and is also a judge in the Spanish version of the international series The X Factor.

Laura Pausini was born on 16 May 1974 in Faenza, Emilia-Romagna, Italy to Fabrizio Pausini and Gianna Ballardini. She has a younger sister named Silvia Pausini.
His father is a former pianist who also played as a session man for ABBA’s Frida Lyngstad and joined a group whose members later formed the Italian pop group, Pooh. After becoming a piano bar artist, he encouraged Pausini to perform as a singer.

In 1987, she recorded her first demo album, produced and released by her father for his live performances. Titled I Sogni di Laura, it consisted of eight covers and five new songs. In 1991, she participated in the Castrocaro Music Festival, singing “New York, New York” by Liza Minnelli, but did not make it to the final of the competition. In the same year, he participated in another song contest, Sanremo Famos, which should have been the rookie selection for the next Sanremo Music Festival. At one audition, she met Fabrizio Giannini of Warner Music Italy’s Compagnia Generale del Disco. After being unimpressed with Mia Martini’s performance of the song, Pausini received her first recording contract and became one of the first artists Giannini discovered, later launching the careers of several Italian actresses, including Irene Grandi. “La solitudine” was chosen as one of the proposals of the section of new artists of the 43rd Music Festival of Sanremo. Pausini performed it for the first time on February 23, 1993, the first night of the competition. te” – Spanish for “Volveré junto a ti” – was accompanied by a music video shot by Italian film director Gabriele Muccino. The album also includes the single “Una storia che vale”, with guest appearances by Brazilian singer Gilberto Gil on “Seamisai” and Italian singer Nek playing bass on “Non c’è”.
In 2001, Pausini started working with producers such as Patrick Leonard and John Shanks on her first English-language album, From the Inside. Released in Canada, Mexico, and the United States by Atlantic Records on 5 November 2002, the album did not get the expected success, selling 50,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen-Soundscan. Influenced by international artists including Phil Collins and Celine Dion, the recording is on the subject of a break-up and was written in 2002, during her separation from her ex-boyfriend and producer Alfredo Cerruti. The album features the song “Mi abbandono a te”, co-written by Pausini, Rick Nowels, and Madonna.
