Marathi actor-director Ravindra Mahajani, a prominent figure in the Marathi film industry since the mid-1970s, was discovered deceased in a rented apartment at Xrbia Society in Pune’s Talegaon Dabhade on Friday. Mahajani, who hailed from Mumbai, had been residing alone in the apartment for approximately eight months.
The police were alerted by neighbors around 4.30 pm on Friday, as they noticed a foul odor emanating from the locked apartment. After arriving at the scene, officers, with the assistance of local residents, forced open the door and found Mahajani’s lifeless body inside.
The deceased was identified by the apartment owner, and authorities believe that he passed away about two to three days before the discovery of his body. Following the standard procedure, the police informed Mahajani’s family and sent his remains to a hospital for a postmortem examination to ascertain the cause of death.
