After joining Team Sunweb in 2018, Hindley made his debut at the 2018 Volta ao Algarve. He was also included in the startlist for the Vuelta a España in August of that year. In May 2019, he participated in the 2019 Giro d’Italia.
In the 2020 season, Hindley had a strong start by winning two stages and the overall classification in the Herald Sun Tour. He then competed in the Giro d’Italia in October. With a third-place finish on Stage 15, he climbed to third place in the general classification.
